PS3 3D Experience Starts TOMORROW!

The moment is here — starting tomorrow, high-definition stereoscopic 3D gaming will be available in your very own living rooms! As you already know, all PlayStation 3 systems are already equipped with everything they need to play stereoscopic 3D games. Thanks to a free firmware update released this past April, the PS3 system is the only console on the market that can support full stereoscopic 3D gaming — right from your living room, and with no additional charge.

Today, Sony Electronics announced its 3D capable BRAVIA HDTVs are now available for pre-sale and will ship to retailers later this month. There are a broad range of models available in different screen sizes, some packaged with active glasses and others without, giving consumers the option to choose which 3D entertainment solution works for them..

Starting tomorrow, the following games and demos will be available in stereoscopic 3D for anyone who owns a PS3 system and 3D television:

    * WipEout HD (full game): Experience the adrenalin rush of navigating the twists and turns of futuristic racetracks at breathtaking speeds like never before.
    * Super Stardust HD (full game): Experience asteroids fly past you as you navigate the deadly battleground — only a battle on a cosmic level will save the indigenous life below from destruction.
    * PAIN: The stereoscopic 3D content will include the Downtown area and tutorial along with three modes, including two new modes created specifically with stereoscopic 3D in mind, Alien Toss and Ice Breaker.
    * MotorStorm Pacific Rift (demo): MotorStorm Pacific Rift in stereoscopic 3D puts you in the driver’s seat of a buggy for a one track, single player race around the deadly Kanaloa Bay for a dangerously real battle against ruthless opponents.

PSN down for Maintenance - June 9th

From 8:30am Pacific Time until around 8:30pm Pacific Time today, June 9, several key components of Sony's PlayStation Network will be unavailable for users.

The PlayStation Store, for example, will be closed. You also won't be able to manage your account, so if you felt like changing your avatar to that little yellow poo guy, sorry. Most importantly, you may also "encounter some difficulty" trying to sign into the PlayStation Network itself, which would put the kibosh on any multiplayer plans you had for your Wednesday.

There's always a chance the work will be finished before 8:30pm, but then, there's always the chance it won't be, either. You never can tell with these downtimes!

More FIFA 11 Screenshots!

We showed the 1st screen shot yesterday and EA has release a couple of more for us today.
Here ya go!

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock - Check out these AXES!

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is taking a new direction in it's gameplay with it's new story driven mode. It is also releasing New guitars to go with it. Rather than the usual plastic versions of real world axes, Activision have released images of 2 new guitars that are inspired by the brand new game mode. The guitars look like something straight out of Brutal Legend and look great.
The styles of the guitar are not the only thing that has changed. All the controller's electrical wiring are found within the neck, leaving the body there purely for looks. The body snaps out into 2 pieces and attach to the neck. This makes the bodies interchangeable with each other. So instead of guitar skins being sold to customize your axe, expect to see a lot of different bodies out there in the future. The bodies can also use the neck as a power source to add lights and such to itself.
The game will be sold on it's own or bundled with this new guitar. Again, these guitars look great but for someone that already has a bunch of plastic instruments laying around, this will just add to the pile, but I'm sure the custom bodies will attract buyers anyway.

Dead Space 2 - Cover Emerges!

This Dead Space 2 cover looks bad ass, I can't wait for the actual game!

Going from FIFA World Cup 2010 back to FIFA 10

So I've been playing FIFA World Cup lately and I've been really loving the smoothness of the gameplay, the quickness of the plays, the responsiveness of the button presses. I really didn't notice all this until I went back to FIFA 10 today.
Playing the World Cup games are alright, but I easily get tired of international football, I needed my Club play back, I needed my Ultimate Team. So today, I loaded up FIFA 10 and oh man, what a difference. The gameplay differences are slight, but they impact the game a lot. I played 5 or 6 games and won only 2 where I would usually win a tournament run on the first try. I quickly got frustrated and turned it off.
Yup FIFA WC 2010 sort of ruined my FIFA 10 Ultimate Team experience ay the moment. I'll keep at it and I'm sure I'll get back on track, but knowing there is better gameplay on another game is killing me!

"Cubixx takes inspiration from a couple of older games of the same type and tasks the player with using their laser to cut away the surfaces of a mysterious cube and free the energy within. Cutting longer lines and crossing multiple cube surfaces will reward you with larger combos, but at far greater risk.
The game features 20 levels of increasingly lunatic difficulty" explains Al Evans

Cubixx is a fun fast paced retro-style game that will have you fighting for High Score just like in arcade games of the 80's. It releases on June 8th for an awesome price of $3.99

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - Site now live

Star Wars The Force Unleashed II's official webpage is now live showing off some awesome Star Wars art.
A bit more info is given on the game that will be release on October 26th.
You once again take control of StarKiller, Darth Vader's fugitive apprentice in a story that occurs 6 months after the end of the first game. In the game "Vader is attempting to clone his former apprentice in an attempt to create the Ultimate Sith warrior. The chase is on – Starkiller is in pursuit of Juno and Darth Vader is hunting for Starkiller," according to LucasArts.
Can't wait to get my hands on this on in the fall.

Soon on the Playstation Store: Vibes

PlayStation Blog announced the release of it musical rhythm Playstaion Mini.
" Vibes, which will release on the PlayStation Store on June 8th at the price of $5.49. Vibes is an action-packed rhythm game that includes a lucky 13 music tracks, covering everything from Classical to J-Pop, to Psychobilly, to Punk. With three levels of difficulty your finger will be well and truly wrecked. ;)
The game is squarely aimed at fans of the rhythm-based genre and has a steep learning curve, so if you think you have conquered Guitar Hero then give this a try. Starting off on the Easy difficulty allows the player to get used to the control mechanism — the difficulty then builds and builds, and will push players to the limit on the harder difficulty settings." -  explains Al Evans // Senior Producer, Laughing Jackal

Here are some of the screenshots of the game.

Vibes is out on June 8th at $5.49.

Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock - 35 Tracks Revealed!

Activision reveals the first 35 tracks that will be on its next Guitar Hero title, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.
Unlick it's predecessors, GH:WoR gives you a story mode which takes from CBGB club to depths of Hell to help the Demi-God of Rock (Gene Simmons of Kiss) destroy The Beast. Sounds like an awesome way to play Brutal Legend to me!

"The world is a boring place. Come with me, and enter a world populated of Demi-Gods and Beasts. Transform from an everyday person and become the savior of rock and roll," said Gene Simmons of KISS. "It was an honour and privilege to narrate Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, even more so, to voice the Demi God. From the God of Thunder to the Demi-God, how cool is that..."
A new guitar controller is also in the works and is inspired by the Story-driven world within it.
The game will included 90 Tracks, all original recording of course.
Here are the first 35 tracks revealed for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock

• AFI – "Dancing Through Sunday"
• Anthrax – "Indians"
